depends, if you have a predefined pattern set like the one for the corp, the only data load that would occure would be for your graphic card. it would be very doable to have decals or custom colored ships, but I guess it's too much codemodifying ...

I always liked the "silly structure" idea for outposts. just make your outpost grow like a city, more modules, most only for eye candy like a strip bar with bright lightsigns and so on. makes the alliances fight for the best outpost in the game
